If you are using the Wi-Fi password method

If you have successfully connected your Heat Pump Optimizer X to your home Wi-Fi, but the tado° app shows a configuration error, this means your Heat Pump Optimizer X has taken longer than usual to set up the Thread network.

You can restart configuration by following these steps:

  1. Select Retry.

  2. Make sure your phone is connected to your router’s network (the same Wi-Fi network that the Heat Pump Optimizer X will try to connect to).

  3. Make sure you select Allow when prompted to allow tado° to access your home network. If you selected Don’t Allow, you can return to that screen by selecting Retry.

  4. If you have closed the screen on your tado° app, you can re-enter it by selecting Settings > Rooms & Devices, and selecting Heat Pump Optimizer X from the list of devices. Select the Configure button.

  1. If the issue persists, restart the Heat Pump Optimizer X by accessing the screen display and selecting Menu > Reset device > Restart. Select Retry in the tado° app after the Heat Pump Optimizer X starts up again.

  2. If the issue still persists, do a Factory Reset on your Heat Pump Optimizer X. Close your current app screen, then scan the QR code to reinstall.

Please note: the Heat Pump Optimizer X will only connect to 2.4 GHz. If you have set your router to create an additional 5 GHz network, ensure that your phone is connected to the same network as the Heat Pump Optimizer X.

If you are using the Simple Setup method (WPS)

If you have successfully connected your Heat Pump Optimizer X to your home Wi-Fi, but the tado° app shows a configuration error, this means your Heat Pump Optimizer X has taken longer than usual to set up the Thread network. If Wi-Fi connection was unsuccessful, repeat the Simple Setup process from the beginning.

  1. Select Retry.

  2. Make sure your phone is connected to your router’s network (the same Wi-Fi network that the Heat Pump Optimizer X will try to connect to)

  3. Make sure you select Allow when prompted to allow tado° to access your home network. If you selected Don’t Allow, you can return to that screen by selecting Retry.

  4. If you have closed the screen, you can re-enter by selecting Settings > Rooms & Devices, and selecting Heat Pump Optimizer X from the list of devices. Select the Configure button.

5. If the issue persists, restart the Heat Pump Optimizer X by accessing the screen display and selecting Menu > Reset device > Restart. Select Retry in the tado° app after the Heat Pump Optimizer X starts up again.
