My Heat Pump Optimizer X shows an Initialization Failed error. How do I fix it?

If a banner appears saying Initialization Failed, it means that your Heat Pump Optimizer X had a problem while setting up with your heat pump.

Here are some steps you can try to resolve the Initialization issue:

  1. Ensure devices are powered. Double check both your heat pump and your Heat Pump Optimizer X are correctly connected to the power supply.

  2. Check the Wi-Fi connection on the screen display. If the Heat Pump Optimizer X shows as disconnected from Wi-Fi, refer to our article My Heat Pump Optimizer X has disconnected from the Wi-Fi. How do I fix it?

  3. Verify communication between your Heat Pump Optimizer X and your heat pump by checking the connection icon on the screen display:

    1. If the icon has an X, there could be a wiring issue. Check the wiring by following the installation instructions in the tado° app via Settings > Rooms & Devices > Select your device > Installation Instructions.

    2. If the icon shows that the heat pump is connected, then wiring is not the issue.

4. Restart your Heat Pump Optimizer X, then wait 20 minutes.
