The Hydronic Balancing feature enables your system to distribute heat more evenly. After analysing the behaviour of your Smart Radiator Thermostats X, tado° integrates calibration directly into the valve control to continuously re-balance your heating system.
Hydronic Balancing redirects water flow to the radiators with higher heat demands, counteracting the tendency for rooms close to the boiler to heat too much while rooms far away from the boiler remain cold despite the set temperature.
To use this feature, please ensure the following:
Your house or apartment has its own boiler.
You have an AI Assist subscription.
You have Smart Radiator Thermostat X devices on all radiators, except any radiators that are always off and not used for heating.
You can activate this feature in the tado° app. Go to Settings > Hydronic Balancing and toggle to activate. You can toggle to deactivate it at any time.
This feature is separate from Adaptive Heating, which responds to the heating characteristics of your rooms. These features are designed to work alongside each other.
In most heating systems, the water pump level is increased enough to make the radiators work in all rooms. By relying on Hydronic Balance to ensure flow to all rooms, you also have the option to gradually reduce the pump level, which can reduce flow noise.
Please note, when Hydronic Balance is activated, it will always accompany your heating and does not appear as a separate symbol on the screen of the Smart Radiator Thermostat X.
