Room control devices

These devices require a Bridge X or Heat Pump Optimizer X to communicate with the tado° app. They are also Matter-enabled and can connect to other Thread border routers to join smart home systems (like Amazon Alexa, Apple Home, Google Home, and Samsung SmartThings).

Room control devices measure temperature and humidity and send this information to the tado° app (or other compatible smart home app). They store heating schedules locally and will follow the heating schedule even if disconnected from the network.

You can also control your heating manually on these devices and return to your automated heating schedules at any time, either on the device interface or on the tado° app.

Smart Radiator Thermostat X

The Smart Radiator Thermostat X replaces your existing thermostatic radiator valve (TRV) head and can be mounted on most radiators with thermostatic radiator valves, either directly or with an adapter.

The temperature and other information are displayed on a touchscreen. The touchscreen and dial can be used for manual control.

You can add the Smart Radiator Thermostat X to your home in combination with a Wired Smart Thermostat X or Wireless Temperature Sensor X to enhance your control of individual rooms. You can even group multiple Smart Radiator Thermostats within a room to organize your heating system as efficiently as possible.

Smart Thermostat X

The Smart Thermostat X replaces hardwired room thermostats, including those used for underfloor heating.

The temperature and other information are displayed on an LED-powered display. The device has three buttons on the front for manual control.

The Smart Thermostat X can be installed in combination with a Wireless Temperature Sensor X and Smart Radiator Thermostat X to enhance your control of individual rooms.

Wireless Temperature Sensor X

The Wireless Temperature Sensor X can improve the efficiency of virtually any heating system by providing temperature data for the most important areas of the home.

Information about your home climate is displayed on an LED-powered display. The device has three buttons on the front for manual control.

This device measures room temperature and sends information to the tado° app. The Wireless Temperature Sensor can be strategically placed anywhere in your home and works best in combination with other tado° devices. For example, place a Wireless Temperature Sensor in a room heated by radiators to measure the temperature in the center of the room where you are, not just by the radiators.

Other tado° X Devices

Bridge X

The Bridge X is the device that enables communication between tado° X devices.

The front of the device has a main button (used for waking up the device and WPS connection), one LED to indicate power, and three LEDs to indicate Wi-Fi signal strength.

The Bridge X plugs into an electrical outlet and connects to your router via Wi-Fi. The Bridge X is a Thread border router and uses a radio link to communicate with your tado° devices. You can install multiple Bridge Xs in the same house to extend the range of your network. Thread border routers from different smart home systems can be used interchangeably with the Bridge X.

Heat Pump Optimizer X

The Heat Pump Optimizer connects directly to your heat pump, allowing you to control and schedule heating and hot water remotely. It connects to Wi-Fi and can be used instead of a Bridge X to communicate with your other tado° devices. When you combine the Heat Pump Optimizer with tado° room control devices, your heating system will become smarter, capable of synchronizing your room needs with your heat pump operation.

The device has three buttons and a screen display on the front. You can access the device menu via this display and use the buttons to select options. Your existing heat pump controller will also still work.

If you have an hourly dynamic energy tariff (Time-of-Use tariff), you can subscribe to tado° Balance for Heat Pump, which automatically shifts energy consumption to lower-cost periods.
