If you’re having trouble setting up your Bridge X, here are a few tips to guide you through the installation.
Tips for installing your Bridge X
Register the device by selecting Settings > Rooms & Devices > Add device in the tado° app, then scan the QR code on your Bridge X.
Plug the Bridge X to an electrical outlet closer to the router to ensure it is within range of your Wi-Fi network.
Check that the device is fully plugged into an electrical outlet and has power. Press the WPS button on the Bridge X. If no LEDs light up, there is no power going to the device. Try a different electrical outlet.
Make sure the Power LED is solidly on and first Wi-Fi LED lights up. This means the Bridge X is discoverable.
If the first Wi-Fi LED is off, instead of pulsing or blinking, do a Factory Reset on your device.
Connection problems when using the Simple Setup method (WPS)
If you tried the Simple Setup method (WPS) and the Bridge X does not connect, follow these troubleshooting steps:
Try the Simple setup (WPS) method again, making sure that both your router and the Bridge X are blinking at the same time (which will last for 2 minutes).Press the WPS button on your router and the WPS button on the Bridge X twice, on both devices: once to wake up the device, a second time to launch WPS.
If the WPS connection method fails multiple times, this may indicate that your Bridge X is too far away from your router.
Factory Reset your Bridge X, then reinstall it by selecting Settings > Rooms & Devices > Add device in the tado° app, then scan the QR code on your Bridge X.
Check if your internet connection is working. To do this, log in to your home’s Wi-Fi network on your smartphone. If it is not working, please check that your router is powered and restart the router and any other Wi-Fi repeater in your network. This will usually resolve a temporary issue with the internet connection.
Connection problems when entering your Wi-Fi password
If you are entering your Wi-Fi password and the Bridge X does not connect, follow these troubleshooting steps:
Select Refresh networks.
Check your Wi-Fi credentials to ensure they are correct, then re-enter them in the tado° app.
If the issue persists, do a Factory Reset for your Bridge X. Then reinstall it by selecting Settings > Rooms & Devices > Add device in the tado° app and scanning the QR code on your Bridge X.
If the issue still persists, check if your Internet connection is working. To do this, log in to your home’s Wi-Fi network on your smartphone. If it is not working, please check that your router is powered and reset the router. This will usually resolve a temporary issue with the internet connection.
