When you adjust the temperature manually in the tado° app, this Manual Control overrides the Smart Schedule for the period you select. Manual Control can be temporarily interrupted by Away Mode or Open Window Detection.

Here’s how you can manually control the temperature in the app:

  1. On the Home Screen, select the room you wish to control.

  2. Drag the slider up or down to change the temperature.

  3. Simply let go of the slider to set the desired temperature.

Adjusting the duration of Manual Control

  1. On the Home Screen, select the room you wish to control.

  2. Select the pencil icon at the bottom of the screen.

  3. Move the horizontal slider from left to right to set how long you want the manual change to last.

Duration settings

On the horizontal slider, you can choose any of the following options to control the duration of your Manual Control:

  • Timer: This lets you specify a timespan of up to 12 hours for Manual Control to stay active. When you set the timer, tado° ignores all Smart Schedule and Geofencing settings until Manual Control ends.

  • Until next time block: The settings remain active until the beginning of the next time block in the Smart Schedule.

  • Until you resume schedule: The settings remain active until you change them in the app. This is best if you want to keep a certain setting for a longer period. When you set tado° to Until you resume schedule, tado° ignores all Smart Schedule and Geofencing settings until you end Manual Control.

For tado° X devices only: Remember, if Geofencing is active and you leave your home, tado° will automatically follow your Away Mode settings instead of Manual Control. This applies to all the duration options above.
