Your tado° account comes with a default Smart Schedule already set up. To personalise your Smart Schedule, select the Room of your choice in the tado° app and tap the calendar icon in the upper right corner of the screen.
At the top of the screen, you can toggle between the two schedule modes, Home and Away.
Defining Home settings
In the Home tab, you can divide your day into multiple time blocks and select your ideal temperature based on your daily routine. tado° follows this schedule whenever it is in Home Mode.
You can create a customised schedule for each day of the week. If you want your Home schedule to be the same every day, you can use the copy and paste function:
Tap on the Monday tile to view the time blocks for the first day in your schedule. Here you can tap Add time block to create new ones as needed.
Tap on the time blocks to adjust the temperature setting, start time, and end time. From here, you can also select Delete time block. Note that the first time block must start at 00:00 and the last time block must end at 24:00. You must have at least one time block per day and each time block must last for at least 15 minutes.
When you’re happy with Monday’s schedule, tap the Copy icon of two identical papers.
On the following day tiles, tap the Paste icon of a paper and clipboard. Tap the Paste icon for every day where you want to duplicate this schedule.
Similarly, you can use the copy & paste function to create one schedule for weekdays and another schedule for weekends. You can also copy a schedule from one Room to another by tapping on the icon of two calendars in the upper right corner and selecting the desired Room.
Defining Away settings
In the Away tab, you can set a temperature for Away mode. tado° makes sure your Room doesn’t drop below this temperature while you’re away. If you toggle the Away temperature to be off, tado° still makes sure all Rooms stay above 5°C as its default frost protection setting.
Offline Smart Schedule
If your tado° X devices lose internet connection and go offline, they will still follow your Home and Away Smart Schedules because the schedule information is saved locally on the individual devices. If your devices go offline while they’re following a temperature that you set manually, the devices will maintain the last temperature you set. If you have set a timer for your manual settings and it ends while the devices are offline, they will resume your Smart Schedule as normal. Please note: If a Home member has manually set tado° to Away or Home Mode, automatic Geofencing will be deactivated. To reactivate automatic Geofencing in the tado° app, go to Settings > Geofencing and confirm your mobile device settings.
