How can I charge the battery in my Wired Smart Thermostat X (2nd gen) or Wireless Temperature Sensor X (2nd gen)?

Written by tado°

The Wired Smart Thermostat X (2nd gen) and Wireless Temperature Sensor X (2nd gen) have a rechargeable lithium battery that can be charged with a standard USB-C cable. The charger should be rated for 5VDC and 0.5A minimum. You can charge your device at any time, but we recommend fully charging the battery before installing your device and before each heating season.

Follow these steps to charge your Wired Smart Thermostat X (2nd gen) or Wireless Temperature Sensor X (2nd gen):

  1. Plug a standard USB-C charger cable into the USB-C port on the device. You can charge the device while mounted on the wall or after unmounting it.

  2. Connect the device to power. A charging battery symbol will appear on the device’s interface when plugged in. The same symbol will appear if you try to wake the device up by pressing the button while it’s charging.

  3. When the battery is fully charged (which could take 4-5 hours), the charging battery symbol won’t be shown anymore, and you can unplug the USB-C cable. Whenever you are unplugging the device, you can check the battery state. If the device is fully charged, a full battery symbol will appear.

Will my heating still work while the battery is charging?
