In some heating systems, the different zones are each controlled by a room thermostat. Each thermostat measures the temperature and opens or closes the zone valve to regulate the temperature in that zone.

Wired and Wireless Smart Thermostats can be used to replace the room thermostats, allowing tado° to control the zones individually.

These heating systems can be controlled with one of the following setups:

1. Smart Thermostats X or Wireless Receivers X control zone valves and Smart Radiator Thermostats X control the individual rooms (recommended)

Each tado° Smart Thermostat X measures the temperature and regulates the amount of heat flowing through the valves from the boiler to the area requiring heat.

Please note: it’s important to accurately set up rooms and Zone Controllers in the tado° app to ensure the Smart Radiator Thermostats X communicate with the correct Smart Thermostat X or Wireless Receiver X.

You’ll need the following tado° devices:

For setups with wired thermostats:

For setups with wireless thermostats:

In a wireless setup, the Wireless Receivers X each control a zone valve and Wireless Temperature Sensors X replace every wireless thermostat that you want to control intelligently. Smart Radiator Thermostats X let you control rooms individually.

2. Smart Thermostats X control radiator zones independently

Each Smart Thermostat X measures the temperature and regulates the amount of heat flowing through the valves from the boiler to the area requiring heat. You control the temperature in the individual rooms by manually changing the settings on the conventional radiator thermostats.

You’ll need the following tado° devices:

For setups with wired thermostats:

For setups with wireless thermostats:

In a wireless setup, the Wireless Receivers X each control a zone valve and the Wireless Temperature Sensors X replace every wireless thermostat that you want to control intelligently.
