Can I (temporarily) turn off or postpone Smart Charging to a later point during the charging session?

Written by tado°

It is possible that you are in a hurry or that you have an unexpected meeting. If in that case, you don’t have time to use Smart Charging, you can disable it by toggling the Schedule off at the top of the Schedule settings screen. Once you have turned off Smart Charging, your vehicle will start charging immediately, and tado° will not interfere with the charging process.

Turn on Smart charging afterwards so that you can enjoy the benefits of Smart Charging again.

If you have a Schedule active, you can change the target, which will immediately override the Schedule.

If you need, it is also possible to set a "Deadline" for your charging sessions. This will determine when you want tado° to start calibrating (calculating your most optimal charging schedule) and performing your Smart Charging session!

For example, you may want to delay all and any charging until the time when your off-peak tariff starts. If that is the case, all you have to do is set your Deadline to the same time when your off-peak tariff starts.

Please keep in mind that this is not possible if your car does not support managed charging: Supported Cars and Chargers for tado° Smart Charging

You can always adjust your settings during a Smart Charging session. The adjustments you make are immediately processed. Please remember that the minimum required charging time is determined by the combination of the maximum charging speed of your car and your home charging station.
