Save on your energy bill
Once you connect your electric car or charge station to the Smart Charging in the tado° app, you can save based on your Energy contract. You have to set your rates and hours in the tado° App, and we will optimize your charging plan to charge as much as possible at the lowest tariffs. After each charging session, we will provide an estimate of how much you have saved on your energy bill.
Energy contract with dynamic energy prices
tado° Smart Charging provides the option to optimize your charging sessions based on energy market prices. This corresponds to your dynamic tariff plan of your energy supplier, e.g., like aWATTar*, tado° Energy*, Octopus Agile, Tibber, and Frank Energie!
The energy market prices that we take into account in your country are hourly day-ahead spot prices.
How do I install tado° in combination with a dynamic tariff plan?
Installing tado° in combination with a dynamic tariff plan is simple! After you connect your car or charging station, enter your home address as a Charging location and choose the energy supplier of this location. In the “energy tariff” section, select “dynamic rate,” and you are good to go.
*If you are an aWATTar or tado° Energy tariff customer, you can benefit from the Smart Charging feature for free.
