If your tado° Smart Radiator Thermostat X, Wired Smart Thermostat X (2nd gen), or Wireless Temperature Sensor X (2nd gen) isn’t charging, the issue is often related to the type of charger or cable being used. In most cases, switching to a different charger or cable will resolve the problem.
However, if that doesn’t help and you’ve been using a USB-C charger, we recommend using the following to improve your charging experience:
A standard USB-A charger with a USB-C charging cable.
This setup ensures the charger operates at exactly 5V (recommended).

Can I use a USB-C charger?
Yes. In most cases, USB-C chargers work without any issues.
However, some modern fast chargers designed for smartphones, tablets, or laptops may operate on a higher voltage depending on the device’s request. Because of it, they don't charge the device correctly or as you expect them to.
For this reason, if your device does not start charging when using the USB-C charger, please follow the recommendation above.
