How can I claim a refund based on the Energy Savings Promise? Are there any conditions?

Written by tado°

You can claim a refund based on the Energy Savings Promise (ESP) by contacting us. You can request an ESP refund only once.

When you contact us, please provide a copy/photo/scan (PDF or JPG) of your purchase receipt.

Before you claim a refund

Before claiming a refund, make sure you meet all the following requirements:

  • You bought tado° X heating devices.

  • You bought the device after September 2, 2026.

  • You bought the device less than 12 months ago, based on the purchase date.

  • You bought the device via the tado° webshop or from a retail partner that included the ESP in its offering.

  • You have connected and used the device for at least 6 months to prove its benefits to you.

  • You ordered tado° devices in standard quantities for private household use, not for commercial or industrial use (such as hotels).

Keep your tado° Home

Please don’t delete your tado° Home before we process your request. We need access to your tado° device data and past conversations, including your refund request, to check whether you meet the requirements. If you delete your tado° Home, we won’t be able to access this information or process the refund.

After you claim a refund

If we approve your request, we’ll tell you how to return your devices.

Return all devices from the relevant order, complete, undamaged, and in their original packaging. Once we receive them, you’ll get a full refund of the amount you paid.

If you used a tado°-specific discount voucher or coupon in your order (i.e. only valid for buying tado° devices), we won’t refund its value.

The ESP doesn’t cover costs for:

  • professional installation

  • removal of the devices

  • in-app purchases

  • digital subscriptions

  • services that we have already provided

You can’t claim a partial refund. If you claim a refund, you must return all tado° devices bought in the same order together.
