Auto-Assist is a tado° subscription that allows you to fully automate your heating and cooling. Enjoy the simplicity of a perfect home climate while Auto-Assist optimizes your settings for efficiency and savings, regardless of the little events that would normally require you to make manual adjustments.
Only heat when you’re home, even if you don’t know what your schedule will be
With multiple family members coming and going at different times, it’s nearly impossible to program the perfect smart heating schedule. But when you activate Geolocation, you can rely on Auto-Assist to automatically adjust your heating when the last person leaves home and when the first person comes back. You can forget about heating schedules and be as spontaneous as you like - your heating will still turn on and off only when you need it.
If you have V3+ devices, you can also enable Preheat Before Arrival, which preemptively heats while you’re on your way back home, so it’s cosy and warm when you arrive.
Automatically adjust heating when a window opens
Did a family member open a window for fresh air while the heating was on? No need to rush to the thermostat or even open the tado° app. Auto-Assist will detect the open window and adjust your heating automatically to keep that room from heating unnecessarily.
tado° will intervene for as long as you want it to (according to your Open Window Detection settings), and then your heating will resume its normal schedule.
Let natural warmth contribute to your heating system
Even if you heat your home to a moderate temperature, it’s still possible to heat unnecessarily if the flow temperature for your boiler (or other heat source) is set too high.
Flow Temperature Optimization allows you to set a maximum flow temperature that makes sense for your home, without ever compromising room temperature. Auto-Assist users can activate Automated optimization to automatically incorporate current, local weather data so that your heat source never works harder than necessary to follow its optimal flow temperature.
Understand your energy consumption at a glance
Energy IQ provides detailed reports and graphics so you can easily analyse your heating consumption and understand exactly how tado° and Auto-Assist are helping you save.
Since Energy IQ focuses on heating insights, it isn’t available for homes that only use tado° for cooling, but these homes will still have access to insights in their Savings Summary.
Find out right away if your heating system isn’t functioning properly
Care & Protect monitors the behaviour of your heating system and alerts you if your system isn’t heating as expected. With Auto-Assist, you’ll get access to enhanced Care & Protect features to help point you in the right direction in case of problems, such as:

Subscribe to Auto-Assist
You can subscribe to either a monthly or an annual plan, and you can cancel at any time. To subscribe, go to Settings > Auto-Assist in the app and choose your preferred plan.
Keep your Auto-Assist subscription, even if you move or upgrade your devices
If you’re moving and want to keep your free Auto-Assist linked to your tado° pre-V3+ Starter Kit or Smart AC Control, you will need to take your devices with you.
